The only cemetery in the world managed by the UN.
Flag masts of the 22 participating nations of the UN forces in the Korean War.
|Approximately 11000 fallen of the UN forces were buried here during the period 1951-54. Thereafter most were removed to their home country. The cemetery is permanent home to 2300 war heroes.|
Canada was among the countries with a large contribution to the UN forces.
All participating nations have a plaque like this one. USA lost about 35000 soldiers.
After an interesting visit to the cemetery, I had a quick look in the nearby Busan Municipal Museum.
