Trip to Rocky Mountains on Canada Day Long Weekend

After having lived 1 month in Vancouver, Chris and Eduardo from work invited me on a weekend trip to the Rockies to see some of the most beautiful places in Canada. See more here Banff National Park.

Rodgers Pass near Golden.

Arrived in Banff after an 11 hours drive.

The Elks wander around the streets in Banff.

Native Canadian home.

Eduardo had to close the window to keep the goat out of the car.

The small town Canmore close to Banff.

Banff seen from Sulphur Mountain on a cloudy day.

The famous Mounties on Canada Day parade in Banff.

It was a very big parade, and fun to see how Canadians celebrate their national day.

Castle Mountain.

Canadian Pacific Railway running parallel to the Bow Valley Parkway.

The famous Lake Louise, unfortunately on a cloudy day. We hiked up to the foot of the mountain at the far end.

Lake Louise seen from the other end.

Hike up a small ridge.

As far as you can go.

On the return hike we went up to Mirror lake and a lookout point.

Lake Louise, now in the sun with it's characteristic color.

Mirror Lake. It turned out to be a long hike so our legs were quite used at the end.

Moraine Lake close by, another Canadian natural wonder.

Chris and myself.

Johnston Canyon.
