Nanaimo by Float Plane

Two weeks before I was going to move back to Denmark, I went on a day trip to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, mostly to try the float planes. I was a nice quiet day with beautiful spring like weather.

Float plane terminal in Coal Harbour.

Take-off at Stanley Park.

Vancouver Island Ferry.

Approach to Nanaimo.

Cockpit, there was only one pilot on such a small plane.

It was fun to try the float plane, in special the take-off and landing which were quite bouncy.

Fishing harbour next to the terminal.

Low tide.

Main street building.

There is quite a few old buildings in town.

Museum alley.

Old tower.

Lunch time back in the fishing harbour.

When I saw this cozy small restaurant in the morning, I already decided lunch had to be here.

Nice fish and chips.

Marina along the walk towards the ferry terminal.

With a bit of running I barely made it to the planned ferry.

Ferry ride back to Vancouver for a different scenery - and save some bucks.

Arrival at Horseshoe Bay.
